Frieda
From Peanuts Wiki
She once served as an innocent love rival with Schroeder against Lucy, sometimes taking Lucy's place leaning on the piano. She perhaps had interest in Schroeder, but simply said in one comic strip, "Who wants to know? Maybe I just like music." Lucy sometimes got jealous in a result of either physical violence or leaning next to her.
Frieda is shown for not to be the meanest to Charlie Brown, though she sometimes criticize him, yet not so severely. She is seen in earlier comic strips talking to him about her interests, problems, or simply the ordinary small talk, which is why she was described by Linus as a "good conversationalist".
[edit] Faron
Faron was Frieda's pussycat.
Frieda served as an antagonist for Snoopy, as she believed Snoopy's purpose in life was to be a rabbit-chaser. His unwillingness to do as she wished prompted revenge from Frieda: she would get a cat in order to lower Snoopy's plateau in the neighborhood, as she thought he had it too easy.
A nerve-wracking, week-long sequence had Snoopy worried about the competition the cat was going to cause, not to mention the actual presence of a cat, which he deplored. Finally, Frieda produced Faron, a friendly skin-and-bones kitten which surprised Snoopy ("This is a CAT??", he wondered in amazement). Faron is also lazy and like to hang on Frieda arm-least he get his feet dirty-and only speaks once "meow" which sends Snoopy jumping into the air in fright!
For all the build-up, Faron only played a walk-on role, as he never did measure up to Snoopy's caliber, and Faron was only seen on occasion afterwards, as Frieda herself began to be phased out of the strip at this time. The last time on the daily comic strip Faron is up a tree; a few weeks later on the Sunday comic a running gag is Frieda trying to hold someone else hold Faron while she does errands-poor Snoopy ends up holding the kitty! Frieda herself occasionaly turns up-but is not seen with Faron again
Snoopy's fears of cats would be eventually realized, but only in the form of World War II, the next-door neighbors' cat.
