CBS is a major US television network that serves as the flagship property of the CBS Entertainment Group division of Paramount Global. It began as a radio network in 1927 and has been involved in television since 1931. The name is derived from the initials of the network's former name, Columbia Broadcasting System. The network is sometimes referred to as the "Eye Network" in reference to the shape of the company's logo.

CBS premiered all of the animated Peanuts specials up to It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown (with the exception of It's Spring Training, Charlie Brown, which instead was released directly-to-video and premiered on Nickelodeon), including The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show and This Is America, Charlie Brown. The documentaries Charlie Brown and Charles Schulz, Happy Anniversary, Charlie Brown, Snoopy's Musical on Ice, Happy Birthday, Charlie Brown, It's Your 20th Television Anniversary, Charlie Brown, You Don't Look 40, Charlie Brown, Good Grief, Charlie Brown: A Tribute to Charles Schulz, and Here's to You, Charlie Brown: 50 Great Years also all premiered on CBS.

CBS retained the broadcast rights to A Charlie Brown Christmas, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving until 2001, when the rights were transferred to ABC.

On Thanksgiving Day, CBS also carries coverage of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade under the title The Thanksgiving Day Parade. CBS is not permitted to use the Macy's name in its coverage of the parade due to a deal that NBC has as its authorized broadcaster.
