Peanuts - It's Only Love

While eating lunch, Charlie Brown talks to himself about his unrequited love for the Little Red-Haired Girl. When he notices that the Little Red-Haired Girl is looking in his direction, Charlie Brown becomes extremely embarrassed and puts his paper sack over his head. With the paper sack covering his face, Charlie Brown continues to talk about how sad he is that the Little Red-Haired Girl does not even know him, much to Linus' disgust.

Linus berates his friend for feeling sorry for himself instead of simply introducing himself to the Little Red-Haired Girl. Charlie Brown decides that Linus is right. He goes over to sit on the same bench as the Little Red-Haired Girl. Unfortunately for Charlie Brown, he is only brave enough to sit on the bench after the Little Red-Haired Girl has left.

Charlie Brown buys a book of romantic poetry as a present for the Little Red-Haired Girl. He asks Linus to give her the book because he is too shy to give it to her himself. She returns the book, saying that she does not like poetry or reading. Linus tells Charlie Brown to give the book to somebody who would appreciate it. Charlie Brown follows Linus' advice and gives it to Snoopy.

Peppermint Patty and Marcie return from summer camp. Peppermint Patty asks Charlie Brown if he got the love letter she sent him. Charlie Brown replies that he though the letter was junk mail and threw it away. Peppermint Patty is angry and upset when she hears this, although Marcie thinks it is funny. Peppermint Patty later calls Marcie to tell her about her learnings. Unbeknownst to her, Marcie is on a date with Charlie Brown, eating strawberries as she is receiving the call.

When Peppermint Patty asks Charlie Brown to explain what love is, he tells her about how his father used to be gently teased by an old girlfriend.

Peppermint Patty calls Charlie Brown on the phone. She gets upset when he does not recognize her voice.

Goofs[]

While Peppermint Patty is talking on the phone to Marcie, a telephone receiver (without a wire) is in Peppermint Patty's hand and another receiver is on top of the telephone. This mistake would have been made when the series was modified for broadcast in the United States in 2016. In the original version, shown in France in 2014, the characters used cell phones rather than old phones with rotary dials.
