How I Met Your Mother is a CBS sitcom created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays in 2005. The series is a recounting of the story of how the main character, Ted met his children's mother.

• In the episode "Slutty Pumpkin", Ted waits up all night on halloween for a girl in a pumpkin costume to come up to a party, just as Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin every year on Halloween. At the end of the episode, the piece of music "Linus and Lucy" can be heard being sang by the Shagarats.
• In the episode, "Sorry, Bro", Marshall refers to Ted dating Karen as, "Ted is Charlie Brown trying to kick the football, and Karen's Lucy, who pulls it away at the last second and has sex with it".
• In the episode, "Garbage Island", when Barney spaces out when a woman talks to him, a trombone is heard inplace of her talking, which is similar to how adults speak in the Peanuts TV specials. This is done again in the episodes "Challenge Accepted", and "No Pressure".
