Psych is an American dramedy mystery television show, put out by USA Network -- and not to be confused with The Mentalist. It originally aired between July 7, 2006 and March 26, 2014. Psych is about Shawn Spencer (James Roday), a private detective who has lead the Santa Barbara, CA, police to believe that he is psychic by using his acute observational skills, cultivated by his father, Henry (Corbin Bernsen). Shawn, along with his best friend, Gus (Dulé Hill), opens his own private psychic detective agency, which he names "Psych." The series also stars Timothy Omundson as Detective Carlton Lassiter, Maggie Lawson as Detective Juliet O'Hara, and Kirsten Nelson as Chief Karen Vick.

- In the episode "The Devil is in the Details... and in the Upstairs Bedroom" someone asks Shawn if he knows who Lucy is. Shawn replies, "She charges 5 cents for psychiatric help, and if she ever asks you to kick a football, say no". This is a reference to Lucy van Pelt from Peanuts, her psychiatry booth, and the football gag.
