School Building

The school that the Saint Paul kids attend is James Street Elementary School (shown in the April 16, 1981 strip). However, later Charlie and Sally are seen riding a school bus with the letters PINEC on the side. Again, in the January 8, 1990 strip we see the school bus with the full "Pinecrest Elementary School" on it. In the television specials the kids attend Birchwood Elementary School.
The School Building is somewhat sentient, it often talks to Sally and occationally to another of the kids. The building tells about it's life and the funny things that happen on the inside, even remarking that it has learned a lot by being a school.
The School Building "committed suicide" on January 9, 1976.
