"Snoopy: Man's Best Friend" is the sixth episode of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. It premiered on October 22, 1983.

"Kiss"

Lucy complains that no one loves her. While she is walking away, Snoopy tries to kiss her.

"Peppermint Patty"

Peppermint Patty hires Snoopy to be her guard dog because she is afraid to sleep at night. The house is burglarized anyway when Snoopy, Peppermint Patty and Marcie cannot get off the very bouncy waterbed.

"Charlie Brown Lost!"

Snoopy takes the Beagle Scouts on a hike and does not come back. Charlie Brown gets lost trying to find them so, Peppermint Patty and Marcie go on a rescue mission.

"Snoopy"

Snoopy blows Linus into Patty's pool after he reads The Three Little Pigs. He also pretends he is the World War I Flying Ace and Sally gets a new motto, "Speak softly and carry a beagle".

  • In "Charlie Brown Lost!",  the plot about the rescue mission and the Beagle Scouts is inspired by the comic strip storyline that originally ran from October 24 through November 26, 1980.
  • In "Snoopy", the part where Snoopy throws a toy grenade in his dog dish is inspired by the Sunday strip from July 10, 1966.
  • In "Snoopy", the part where Snoopy steals Lucy's ball is inspired by the Sunday strip from April 9, 1967.
  • In "Snoopy", the part where Snoopy fights Lucy is inspired by the comic strip storyline that originally ran from May 24 through May 29, 1965. It was also adapted in the 1968 TV special He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown and as the episode "L'amour du risque" from the 2014 French TV series Peanuts.
  • In "Snoopy", the part where Snoopy dances around because Charlie Brown gave him his food is inspired by the Sunday strip from 12 June 12, 1966.
