Peanuts comic strip from the day I was born, August 29, 1973. The way in which the strip was internationally distributed at the time means that it wouldn't have appeared in newspapers in my native Britain until several weeks later.

My name is Simon Peter Hughes. I am an admin on Peanuts Wiki, its Spanish sister wiki and six other wikis.

I was born in Stratford-upon-Avon , England in 1973. I studied French and Spanish at the University of Bradford between 1991 and 1995.I can also speak Catalan and Esperanto. I received an MA in English Language Teaching from the University of Warwick in 1997. I have been teaching English as a foreign language since 1997. I have lived and worked in Turkey, Poland and Japan. I have lived and worked in Taiwan since 2003.

I have been an active Wikipedia editor since 2006, under the same username; Simon Peter Hughes. I have edited articles in English, Simple English, French, Catalan and Scots and have made several contributions to the Esperanto and Spanish versions. I used to edit Uncyclopedia under the username Spews1973 but I lost interest in that site because I find most of it disgusting and simply not funny.

I have been a big fan of animated cartoons and comic strips for as long as I can remember. Peanuts is one of my favorites, particularly the strips from the mid 1960s to the mid 1970s and any strips dealing with Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown's unresolved feelings for each other. My favorite "Peanuts" animated TV special is, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, although I only saw it for the first time in 2008.

I read Peanuts every day in The China Post, one of two English-language newspapers in Taiwan.
